The wedding ceremony incorporates the vows, which are quite brief, and you may choose to have additional readings, music or speeches as you wish, providing there is no religious content. The Ceremony can take place at the Courthouse, in a private house or in a licensed building [214kb].
At the end of the ceremony the couple and their two witnesses sign the Wedding Book. The marriage is inscribed on the Alderney Register of Marriage and the Certificate of Marriage can be collected from the Court Office after the Ceremony or posted to your address. If required the Court office can provide additional certified copies of the original Wedding Certificate.
